For me gear never matters, no matter what you shoot with, pretty much cameras do the same thing now. However there is some gear that absolutely does matter, the gear that keeps you warm, keeps you happy and keeps you shooting. Vallerret kindly sent some of their Markhof Pro V3 gloves for me to test, as an absolute newbie to decent winter wear, I'm probably the best person to try them out!

A Letter to the Lakes | Samyang 50mm f1.4 FEII | Sony A73 + A7s2

So I was lucky enough as a Samyang ambassador to get the new 50mm f1.4 AF FE II earlier than release. I had already took a few photos with it and also used it briefly for a wedding but really wanted to see what it could do when testing its limits.....it did not disappoint. This film is a love letter to my home, my escape and my place of work. Thank you always to Samyang for the continued support.

So I travelled up to the beautiful Orkney islands with my family for my brother in laws wedding (as the videographer). Made the most of our week there and was lucky to get some spectacular sunsets and some amazing conditions. All shot on Sony A73 and A7s2 and Samyang lenses.

Exploring the North Pennines AONB I am soo lucky to have the North Pennines and the Lake District so close by. The Lakes normally get all the attention so the North Pennines are usually quieter and a little more rugged. This video I explore more of the area and end up at a beautiful waterfall.
